Interior Ministry Under-Secretary for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa announced that more than 400,000 electronic passports have been issued since their launch on March 12, 2023, by Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa.
The initiative was launched in response to the royal directives of His Majesty King Hamad, and under the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, as part of efforts to modernise government services and provide citizens with integrated, advanced services .
