The latest official statistics from the Higher Education Council show that the total number of students enrolled in public and private higher education institutions rose to 60,723 during the 2025-2026 academic year, an increase of 8,049 students in one year, representing a 15.3 per cent growth compared with 52,674 students in the 2024-2025 academic year .
