FOOTBALL – The second matchweek of the 2026-27 Nasser Bin Hamad Bahrain Premier Football League kicks off tonight.
Two matches are to be held across three nights as the kingdom’s top-tier football competition continues in its new season.
This evening, promoted signed East Riffa take on Sitra at the National Stadium in Riffa, while Malkiya go head-to-head with Al Najma at Al Ahli Club Stadium in Mahooz.
Following a break from action tomorrow, round two continues on Friday and Saturday.
On Friday, Al Khaldiya take on A’ali at the National Stadium while two-time defending premiership champions Muharraq go up against last season’s Bahrain First Division title winners Al Ettifaq at Ahli.
Then, on Saturday, Hidd face off with Al Ahli at the National Stadium while Riffa lock horns with Manama at Ahli.
All six matches are scheduled for 7pm kick-offs on each night.
This year’s Nasser Bin Hamad Bahrain Premier Football League is one of several competitions being organised by the BFA for 2026-27.
There are also the His Majesty the King’s Cup, the kingdom’s richest annual tournament, which kicks off on December 14; the Bahrain First Division, starting on September 13; the age-group leagues, kicking off on September 10; the Khalid Bin Hamad Cup, to be played from December 12; and the single-game Bahrain Super Cup, slated for December 29.
