The US-Iran conflict, which began on February 28 this year, has been the ‘hardest test’ ever for the foundation of regional security in the Gulf, according to GCC Secretary-General Jasem Al Budaiwi.Speaking during the second plenary session of the 22nd International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) Manama Dialogue 2026, Mr Al Budaiwi noted that the GCC exercised ‘utmost restraint’ and stepped up intensive mediation efforts to resolve the conflict .
