Five Iraqi footballers have been denied entry visas to the US as the team prepares for its 2026 World Cup campaign.
Among those denied entry is Luton Town striker Ali Al Hamadi, who played a pivotal role in the team's qualification, notably scoring against Bolivia during the play-offs. Official Iraqi sources stated that they have not been provided with any clarification or reasons from the US authorities regarding the visa denials.
Reports indicate that the Iraqi camp is hastily seeking a solution to the issue amid fears that the players could miss the tournament, which is scheduled to begin on June 11.
