FOOTBALL – Leaders Al Khaldiya will be looking to extend the gap atop the table tonight in the 2025-26 Nasser bin Hamad Bahrain Premier Football League.
Khaldiya will be facing off with Budaiya at Khalifa Sports City Stadium in Isa Town to kick off matchweek 20 of the current season.
It will be one of two fixtures this evening on the first of three successive nights of play.
Khaldiya head into the contest with a two-point lead over defending champions Muharraq with only three games to go this campaign.
The full three points would bring them closer to securing the crown, although they have a crucial meeting with Muharraq in the ensuing gameweek.
Budaiya, on the other hand, will be looking for an upset as they fight to avoid having to play in the relegation play-offs, which will feature the teams in ninth and 10th places on the standings at the end of the season.
Budaiya are currently eighth but are tied on points with Sitra.
Also this evening, fourth-placed Malkiya will be taking on already-relegated Bahrain Club at the National Stadium in Riffa.
Both of tonight’s clashes are scheduled for 7pm kick-offs.
Tomorrow, Muharraq go up against Al Najma at Khalifa Sports City Stadium while A’ali take on Hidd at Al Ahli Club Stadium in Mahooz.
Then, on Tuesday, Al Shabab play Riffa at Khalifa Sports City Stadium and Al Ahli lock horns with Sitra at the National Stadium.
Each of the games tomorrow and Tuesday are also slated to get underway at 7pm.
