FOOTBALL – AL Ahli have been crowned champions of the 2025-26 NBB U21 Football League.
This was announced yesterday by the Bahrain Football Association (BFA), who revealed the winners of the kingdom’s various junior and youth leagues, which have been cut short due to the unfortunate events currently taking place in the kingdom and across the region.
In a statement, the BFA said that, following the cancellation of the remainder of the campaign and with the completion of 70 per cent of matches, the BFA decided to confirm the winners of each age-group competition.
The decision was based on the recommendation of the BFA competitions committee and following a review of all relevant legal and regulatory guidelines.
Therefore, based on the results of games that were already held up until the sudden stoppage of the season, Ahli were crowned champions of the NBB U21 Football League where they had 19 points atop the table. Al Khaldiya finished in second place with 15 points and Al Najma were third on 14.
Muharraq, meanwhile, emerged as winners of the kingdom’s U19 league with 16 points. They were followed by East Riffa with 12 and Malkiya with 11.
Manama triumphed in the U17 league with 18 points, narrowly beating out Hidd by a single point. Najma finished third with 15 points.
Finally, Khaldiya were crowned champions of the Khalid bin Hamad Golden Generation League with 19 points. Hidd were the runners-up with 17 points and Sitra third on 12.
The BFA added that the decision to crown the champions guarantees a proper conclusion to each league’s season, in accordance with the approved regulations.
