The Supreme Council for Environment (SCE) has announced lifting a fishing ban on spangled Emperor (Shaari), rabbitfish (Safi) and seabream (Andag), from April 1 to May 31, according to Edict (2) of 2024.
The Council noted that the measure forms part of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s ongoing efforts to preserve marine resources, promote environmental sustainability, rehabilitate ecosystems, and increase both the quantity, and diversity of marine life available in local markets .
