ENDURANCE HORSERACING – HIS Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) chairman and Bahrain Royal Endurance Team captain Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa participated in the 100-kilometre international endurance ride of the Shaikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al Khalifa Endurance Cup.
The event is held under the patronage of SCYS first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and it was organised by the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (Breef).
The event was attended by Supreme Council for Environment vice-president, Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club High Committee deputy chairman and SCYS member Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, as well as Shaikh Hamad bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Shaikh Mohammed bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Shaikh Nasser reiterated support for endurance racing and noted its role within Bahraini equestrian sports in promoting discipline and perseverance.
He said that the support of Shaikh Khalid has contributed to enhancing competitiveness and raising performance levels amongst Bahraini riders at the regional and international levels.
Shaikh Nasser commended the broad participation in the championship.
- Yousef Mohammed Al Saadoun from Enjaz Stables won yesterday in the 120-kilometre ride for private stables, held as part of the Shaikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al Khalifa Endurance Cup at Bahrain International Endurance Village in Zallaq.
Finishing behind Al Saadoun was Emirati rider Ali Sultan Al Sabousi from A1 Stables, while Hamad Hilal Al Khatri from Al Asayel Stables finished third.
At the conclusion of the race, the winners were crowned by Breef secretary general Ghaleb Al Alawi and Royal Stables and Bahrain Royal Endurance Team director general Dr Khalid Hassan.
