It seems that the overpowering subject for 2026 is going to be artificial intelligence (AI). Already we have replaced Google search with Chat GPT but that is a poor use of the capabilities of AI.
According to Jensen Huang CEO of Nvidia ‘AI will create more millionaires in the next five years than the Internet did in the first 20 years’.
If you are like me kicking yourself that we couldn’t find a way to jump on the internet bandwagon and become filthy rich, then here is another opportunity for us to create an application that uses AI to fulfil a necessary need so that we can say: “This time next year Rodney we will be millionaires!”
Mind you, you don’t get much for a million these days. I mean you can barely buy a car so we will need to start thinking about becoming billionaires.
Whether we like it or not artificial intelligence is going to affect our lives in some ways we can only imagine and many ways we can’t.
Many professions are going to change markedly.
One of the first to undergo remarkable change will be the legal profession, in my opinion. Lawyers undergo many years of education and training to fully understand the law and, therefore, allow them to charge us huge amounts of money for their services.
Now, and it is happening right now, instead of engaging a lawyer for a legal opinion you can type your question into Chat GPT and get an answer for free in seconds.
The next stage will be when AI replaces the courts and judges.
The worldwide legal system makes its money not by applying the law but by giving opinions and judgments about what they interpret the law to mean.
If AI were to take over judgements and were to apply the literal meaning of a law then it would fall on legislators to more carefully craft legislation in such a way that is not open to interpretation.
This is beyond the abilities of mere humans so now legislation would need to be created by AI and approved by our elected representatives.
This would speed up the process immensely.
Then with AI powered courts there would be no need for lawyers at all, you could just type in your complaint or grievance to your friendly chat-bot and within seconds you would have a binding judgment for free, or a minimal cost.
Just think, that would make the legal system truly open to all and not just the wealthy. It would free up all these clever educated lawyers who are suddenly unemployed to go and retrain as doctors or teachers and become a benefit to society instead of a detriment.
Now you may think that I have a bias against the legal profession but only in general, some of my best friends are Great White’s and Hammerheads.
The issue is that if you are treated illegally by a person or corporation then to get legal redress you need to have the money to engage legal representation up front and most of us just do not have these resources so that we are excluded from the law.
This is why I am getting very excited about AI and its ability to offer all types of benefits and services to the general public.
I have just had an idea for something I am going to call Skynet, I might not be here next week …
