FOOTBALL – BAHRAIN’S under-23 Olympic football team have kicked off their overseas training camp in Iraq.
The gathering is being held in the city of Basra as part of their preparations for the AFC U23 Asian Cup 2026 Qualifiers, which are scheduled to be held next month.
Head coach Ali Abdulmajeed and his 24-player squad went right to work upon their arrival.
They have begun gearing up for their two friendly games against their Iraqi counterparts, scheduled for today and Tuesday next week.
The Iraq camp is their second overseas trip this summer. They had previously competed in a four-nation tournament in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, last month.
