CYCLING – BAHRAIN’S Ahmed Naser claimed a solid 16th place amongst nearly 40 competitors yesterday in the men’s road race in cycling at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
Naser completed the event’s 157.6-kilometre distance in four hours 27 minutes and 38 seconds, part of a trailing group of four that was 14:27 behind gold-medallist Alexey Lutsenko of Kazakhstan.
His compatriot Yevgeniy Fedorov took silver 1:58 behind, while Yuhi Todome of Japan joined them on the podium 2:40 from first place.
With yesterday’s result, Naser completed his campaign in Aichi-Nagoya. He also competed in the men’s individual time trial, where he ranked 13th from 16 riders.
