CYCLING – TEAM Bahrain Victorious rider Zak Erzen narrowly missed out on the podium yesterday in the first stage of the 11th edition of CRO Race in Croatia.
The Slovenian claimed an impressive fourth place at the end of the 167-kilometre leg as part of a large bunch sprint to the finish, led by winner Juan Sebastian Molano of UAE Team Emirates-XRG, who triumphed in three hours 58 minutes and six seconds.
With his result, Erzen ranked fifth as Bahrain Victorious’ leading rider in the general classification, while also placing second in the best young rider standings.
The second of six stages in CRO race will be held today, covering 114.5km of the total race distance of 940km.
