SHOOTING – BAHRAIN’S shooters began their participation yesterday in the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
Tammar Alwatt placed 23rd from 43 competitors in skeet men’s individual qualification at Aichi Prefecture General Shooting Gallery. He had a 46 total after the first two of five rounds in his competition.
On the distaff, Bahrainis Maryam Hassani and Maryam Alasam were 21st and 26th, respectively, after the opening two rounds in skeet women’s individual qualification. Hassani was on a 41 total and Alasam 35.
All three shooters will be back in action today.
3X3 BASKETBALL – BAHRAIN had a rough start in the men’s 3x3 basketball campaign yesterday in the 20th Asian Games.
The quartet of Ismaeel Alansari, Naser Alanzoor, Mohammed Ghazi, and Isa Jasim lost both their contests in Pool C of the preliminary round at Kinjo Futo Station Square Venue.
They first bowed to Chinese Taipei 2-21 before suffering a 10-14 setback against Indonesia.
The Bahrainis play their concluding assignment today against Qatar at 8.30am, Bahrain time.
In other group games, the Qataris beat Indonesia 10-7 and then won 18-15 against Chinese Taipei.
