CYCLING – The Bahrain Cycling Association (BCA) held an honouring ceremony for the kingdom’s youth cycling national team riders Mohammed Hassan Jawad and Hassan Thamer, following their outstanding results in the recently held Track Asia Cup 2026 in Suphan Buri, Thailand.
The gathering took place under the patronage of BCA president Shaikh Dr Khalid bin Hamad bin Ahmed Al Khalifa and with the support of the Bahrain Olympic Committee.
A number of BCA board members attended, along with the parents of the two riders, and other members of Bahrain’s cycling family.
Jawad made history in Thailand after winning the bronze medal in the junior men’s individual pursuit – Bahrain’s first-ever accolade in track cycling in an international competition.
Shaikh Dr Khalid expressed his pride and deep appreciation for this promising generation in Bahrain cycling, which translates the gains of the BCA’s training programmes held locally and internationally into tangible results and is a testament to the success of the BCA’s technical strategy.
Shaikh Dr Khalid wished the riders continued success and more achievements to raise the name and flag of the kingdom at all levels of cycling.
