BASKETBALL – Bahrain Olympic Committee vice-president Shaikh Isa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa attended a scrimmage game between Bahrain’s senior men’s and youth men’s basketball national teams, both of whom are gearing up for major continental competitions this month.
The game was played at the Bahrain Basketball Association (BBA) Arena in Um Al Hassam Sports Complex.
Shaikh Isa, who is a former BBA president, met with the teams’ players and coaching and administrative staff.
He wished them both success in their upcoming campaigns and emphasised the importance of continued hard work and optimal preparation to represent the kingdom in the best possible way.
Bahrain’s senior men are currently gearing up for the first round of pre-qualifiers for the Fiba Asia Cup 2029, where they are in Group A along with Oman, Nepal, Kuwait, and pool hosts UAE.
Action is scheduled to be held in Dubai from August 26 to 31.
The youth men, meanwhile, have already travelled to Ahmedabad, India to compete in the Fiba U18 Asia Cup 2026.
