FUTSAL – General Directorate of Traffic won the title in the Police Open Futsal Championship after defeating Coast Guard 7-3 in the tournament final, attended by Chief of Police Lieutenant-General Tariq bin Hassan Al Hassan and played at Bahrain Handball Federation (BHF) Arena in Um Al Hassam Sports Complex.
The competition was organised by the Police Sports Association (PSA).
Lt-Gen Al Hassan commended the directives of Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa to provide the resources and capabilities required to organise distinguished sporting events.
He said the minister’s continued support for sport and athletes across the Ministry of Interior has contributed to achieving outstanding results in numerous local and international competitions.
For his part, PBSA president Brigadier Khalid Abdulaziz Al Khayat expressed appreciation to the Chief of Police for attending the final and closing ceremony.
He also commended his continued support for the association’s sporting activities, which aim to enhance the physical fitness of police personnel.
Following the title-decider, Lt-Gen Al Hassan presented the champions’ trophy to the winning team and honoured representatives of the organisations that contributed to the success of the event, including General Sports Authority CEO Dr Abdulrahman Askar, BHF secretary general Majdi Mirza Hussain, and Al Shabab Club vice-chairman Abdulla Mansoor.
