A powerful explosion was reported at a factory in Qatar’s Ras Laffan Industrial Area yesterday.
According to Qatar’s Ministry of Interior, the incident was caused by a technical fault within the facility.
The ministry further informed that several people were injured.
Residents in Bahrain, particularly in areas such as Riffa and Hamad Town, reported hearing the loud boom, with some describing vibrations that “caused their homes to shake.”
Qatari officials have stated that the situation has been brought under control, and safety checks and assessments were carried out at the site.
