MOTORSPORT – BAHRAIN’S 2026-27 national motor racing season is scheduled to flag off in October with multiple rounds taking place until April of next year in circuit racing, karting, drag racing, autocross, and drifting.
The new campaign’s calendar was released yesterday by the Bahrain Motor Federation (BMF).
Bahrain’s circuit racing series will be first to hit the track at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) in Sakhir. They include the Bahrain Touring Car Challenge, Bahrain Motorcycle Championship, and Time Attack.
The circuit racing championships will be held across seven rounds this upcoming season, with the curtain-raiser scheduled for October 9. It will be preceded by an official test day, which is set for September 25.
Round two will then take place on October 30, round three on November 14, round four on November 28, and round five on December 11. The sixth and penultimate round will then be held on January 15 of next year, and it will set the stage for the seventh and final meeting on January 29.
Three reserve dates have also been allocated for circuit racing, including April 16, April 23, and April 30 in 2027.
In karting, the kingdom’s best talents will be battling it out over eight rounds in the Bahrain Rotax MAX Challenge (BRMC).
The BRMC’s opening round will be on October 10, followed by round two on October 16. Round three will then be held on November 21, round four on December 5, round five on December 12, and round six on January 9 of next year.
The seventh and penultimate event is slated for January 22, while the BMRC finale is set for February 5.
April 10 and 17 have been assigned as two reserve dates.
The Bahrain Drag Racing Championship, the premier drag racing series in the region, will stage five rounds at the BIC strip.
Action kicks off from November 24 to 27, followed by the second round from December 1 to 4. Racing resumes in the new calendar year with round three from January 5 to 8, followed by the fourth round from February 9 to 12 and then the championship finale from March 23 to 26.
The autocross campaign will also feature five rounds in 2026-27. The season-opener will be held on October 24, while round two will take place on November 13.
The third round is set for December 25, the fourth on January 16 next year, and the fifth and final round on February 19.
Meanwhile, drifting will take place across five rounds in the new season.
Round one is set for October 23, round two on November 27, and round three on December 26.
The fourth and penultimate event will take place on January 30 in 2027, followed by the finale on February 20.
The BMF season is being organised in cooperation with the Circuit Racing Commission, the Bahrain Motorcycle Commission, the Bahrain Karting Commission, the Bahrain Drag Racing Commission, and the Autocross and Drift Commission.
