Special Olympics Bahrain’s delegation arrived in Sousse, Tunisia, to participate in the 10th Special Olympics Mena Regional Games 2026.
The event features competitors from Egypt, Iraq, Algeria, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Jordan, Bahrain, and hosts Tunisia.
The delegation’s first day featured their participation in the tournament’s technical meeting, where all rules and regulations were reviewed along with competition procedures.
Other organisational aspects of the Games were also discussed.
As part of his commitment to supporting the kingdom’s delegation, Bahrain Paralympic Committee (BPC) president Shaikh Mohammed bin Duaij Al Khalifa visited their residence in Sousse, where he met with the athletes and members of the technical and administrative staff, and reviewed their readiness and preparations for the tournament.
Shaikh Mohammed was also received by Tunisian Special Olympics president Malika El Haj Bidhiaf.
During their meeting, they exchanged friendly conversation and discussed aspects of cooperation between the two sides.
Also in attendance were BPC secretary general and Special Olympics regional advisory council member Ali Al Majed and Bahraini Federation for Sports for People with Disabilities secretary general Jassim Al Bardouli.
