MMA – BRAVE Combat Federation has long positioned itself as the world’s most international mixed martial arts (MMA) organisation, built on a commitment to showcasing talent from every region on the planet.
That vision has now reached a historic point, with Africa emerging as one of its most influential forces.
For the first time in BRAVE CF history, three African athletes simultaneously hold championship gold, marking a defining moment for the continent’s presence in international MMA and within the promotion’s international framework.
At the forefront is BRAVE CF interim super welterweight world champion Alex ‘Da Killa King’ Lohore.
Representing a tri-national identity rooted in Cote d’Ivoire, France, and England, Lohore earned the interim strap at the historic BRAVE 100 extravaganza in November of last year, reinforcing his standing amongst the division’s elite.
His rise reflects the expanding reach of African heritage across the sport, carried by fighters competing on multiple continents while remaining anchored to their roots.
From Southern Africa, Zimbabwe’s Nicholas ‘The Saint’ Hwende continues to build a championship legacy.
A former BRAVE CF bantamweight world champion, Hwende achieved another milestone at BRAVE CF 105 this past May by capturing the undisputed BRAVE CF featherweight world title with a dramatic fifth-round submission win over interim champion Omar ‘Cobra’ Solomanov.
With that triumph, Hwende joined an exclusive class of fighters who have captured world titles in two different divisions under the promotion’s banner.
Hwende’s accomplishments have elevated Zimbabwe’s profile in MMA and established him as one of Sub-Saharan Africa’s most accomplished representatives in BRAVE CF.
North Africa is represented by Algeria’s Mohamed ‘L’Ambiance’ Said Maalem, who claimed the BRAVE CF light heavyweight world championship with a come-from-behind stoppage of former divisional king and rival Erko ‘The Bounty Hunter’ Jun in a re-match at BRAVE CF 106 earlier this month.
Competing with strong ties to both Algeria and Switzerland, Said Maalem’s victory underscores the continued ascent of MMA across the Middle East and North Africa region, where BRAVE CF has played a central role in developing and elevating talent over the past decade.
Together, Lohore, Hwende, and Said Maalem reflect the depth and diversity of African MMA within BRAVE CF.
Their individual paths differ in geography and background, but they converge in championship success, reinforcing Africa’s growing impact on the international stage.
