Merlin, a two-year-old duck who wears a Mexico football shirt, has gone viral after becoming an unofficial mascot for the country during the 2026 World Cup.
The duck has caught the attention of fans whilst waddling behind his owner, Carla Gomez, who sells drinks from a street cart.
"It wasn't really our intention to make him go viral," Carla told the New York Times. "He's always been with us when we're out selling."
Carla added that she hopes Merlin can bring the national team some good luck during the tournament.
