CYCLING – Bahrain Victorious Development Team rider Kasper Borremans claimed a top 10 finish yesterday in the inaugural edition of the A Travers Les Hautes Fagnes elite under-23 men’s road race, held in Belgium.
The Finn was part of a small trailing group that crossed the line a minute and 15 seconds behind winner Jesper Stiansen of Tudor Pro Cycling Team U23, who completed the 161.9-kilometre ride in three hours 50 minutes and 43 seconds.
Borremans was classified ninth at the end of the one-day event as Bahrain Victorious’ best-placed competitor.
Italian teammate Giacomo Rosato followed in 45th place, while the rest of the squad did not finish, including Max van der Meulen from the Netherlands, Leander de Gendt from Belgium, and Elia Andreaus and Santiago Basso, both from Italy.
