MOTORSPORT – A 35-car grid is set to battle this weekend in the Six Hours of Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium.
The meeting marks the second round of the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) season, and it will feature 17 contenders in the series’ top-tier Hypercar category and another 18 in the LMGT3 class.
The Hypercar field is set to be spearheaded by current championship leaders Toyota Racing, who will be hitting the track with their #8 and #7 TR010 Hybrid challengers.
They will be facing a stern test from defending manufacturers’ and drivers’ world champions Ferrari AF Corse, who will be racing with their #51 and #50 499P Hypercars, along with the #83 of AF Corse.
Also amongst the world’s leading manufacturers to be competing amongst the Hypercars are Alpine, Aston Martin, BMW, Cadillac, Genesis, and Peugeot.
In the LMGT3 category, Team WRT head into the event as leaders in the teams’ and drivers’ championship standings with the #69 crew driving their BMW M4 LMGT3 Evo.
They will be up against a pack that includes Aston Martin, Corvette, Ferrari, Ford, Lexus, McLaren, Mercedes-AMG, and Porsche.
Action in the round gets underway today with two free practice sessions, beginning at 12pm and at 4.40pm.
A third free practice will then be held tomorrow at 11.10am, while qualifying including Hyperpole will take place from 3.30pm.
That will set the grid for the weekend’s six-hour race on Saturday, which will flag off at 3pm.

The WEC’s 2026 season features eight rounds in all. Spa will be followed by the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans in France on June 13 and 14.
Stops will then be made at Interlagos in Brazil on July 12, at Austin in the US on September 6, and at Fuji in Japan on September 27, before the WEC arrives in the Gulf.
The campaign’s penultimate meeting, the rescheduled Qatar 1,812km, will then take place on October 24, leading up to the WEC’s 2026 finale, the Bapco Energies 8 Hours of Bahrain, scheduled for November 6 and 7 at Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir.
