PARA BADMINTON – AN integrated technical system for managing sports tournaments has been launched by the organising committee of the Bahrain BWF Para Badminton World Championships 2026.
Bahrain Paralympic Committee (BPC) finance and administration director and the tournament’s executive director Shaikh Ahmed bin Salman Al Khalifa confirmed that hosting the event represents a qualitative leap in the management of Paralympic sports.
The championship, to be held from Sunday to February 14, is organised by the BPC in cooperation with the Bahrain Badminton and Squash Federation.
It is set to take place under the patronage of Supreme Council for Youth and Sport first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Shaikh Ahmed explained that the organising committee has successfully innovated a unique organisational experience through the launch of Ilumis, the integrated technical system for managing sports events.
Its features include registration and participation, streamlining entry for all athletes and delegations; identification and the automated issuance of ID cards; logistics management and the handling of bookings, payments, and visa issuances; and support services by managing balances and auxiliary services to ensure accuracy and smoothness for international committees.
“This platform represents a strategic shift in sports management,” Shaikh Ahmed said. “It was specifically designed to meet the demands of a world-class event and will serve as a model for future major championships.”
