FOOTBALL – RIFFA and A’ali were both victorious last night in their respective matchweek 13 fixtures in the 2025-26 Nasser Bin Hamad Bahrain Premier Football League.
Riffa secured a 3-1 win against Sitra at Khalifa Sports City Stadium in Isa Town while A’ali outclassed Al Najma 2-0 at the Late Shaikh Ali Bin Mohammed Bin Isa Al Khalifa Stadium in Arad.
Three different players were on target for Riffa in their triumph. Brazilian Samuel Conceicao Toscas put them in front in the 26th minute and then Ali Madan and substitute Gabryel Monteiro da Andrade, also from Brazil, added goals in the 68th and 70th minutes, respectively.
Sitra’s Yemeni import Abdulwasea Almatari supplied their lone consolation in the fourth minute of second-half injury time.
With the result, Riffa forged a three-way tie atop the league table with defending champions Muharraq and former solo leaders Al Khaldiya. They have 30 points apiece, with Riffa climbing to second place, behind only Muharraq, with a better goal difference than Khaldiya.
Sitra suffered their fourth loss in 13 outings, and they stayed on 15 markers in the bottom half of the table.
In A’ali’s win last night, Diego Cardoso Nogueira and Lyton Julius Ndukwu from the British Virgin Islands were both on target within a six-minute span in the second half. Noguiera opened their account in the 54th minute and then Ndukwu added their second in the 60th.
A’ali secured their fourth victory to rise to 16 points for fifth on the table, while handing Najma their seventh loss as they stayed on 12 points in third-from-last.
